A strong contender for best Indian food in London, this exquisite curry house is smack bang in between Shepherds Bush and Hammersmith....you get the feeling you've walked into a stately home in India, with the smartly dressed waiters and maître d' warmly welcoming you!

I have been to this restaurant about 8 times now and thought it was time for me to share it. I really LOVE this place, hidden in the middle of the bad restaurants of Shepherds Bush road, all serving bad greasy tasteless food!...

Quietly tucked away on Shepherds Bush Road, this little gem of a restaurant has been offering delicious Tandoori and Balti dishes and unrivalled service since 1996...

...Try the chicken tandoori either as a starter or a main, it always comes sizzling hot and is as succulent as you could wish. All the dishes I have tried (most of the menu) come across as being full of fresh ingredients, and friends on their first visit always remark on this...

Being able to dine in a very relaxed atmosphere, with subtle sounds of Indian music in the background and looked after by polite and friendly staff, hadd all the ingredients for a perfect evening meal...

...The main courses are delicious. I love the house specials such as chicken chilli masala (quite spicy) and chicken achalli masala, but have been equally pleased with prawn saag and some lamb “gost” curries too....

...I never liked Indian food until I went to the Raj!....Whenever we go to London, the trip involves the Raj....Great Chicken Tikka...

...The food was fantastic...I ordered a lamb tikka masala which was not on the menu but was prepared for me without question and it was divine...The food was very much inexpensive, especially for London and yet it was one of the best Indians I have ever had.

I have been coming to raj of India for eight years or so and for a local curry house that seves great curry at reasonable prices I think I'm pretty lucky. I'm going to miss it when I move out of the area. Gawd bless you raj of India!

Being blessed with a fantastic take-away Indian near home, we tend not to head out too often when craving a curry. When we do, there's only two choices; one in Barnes or this place. My girlfriend prefers the food here to any other Indian restaurant we've used. I have to say, my dhansaks are always spot on. And not too tough on the wallet either.

Great food, Great Value. Have been been to the Raj 6 times now and the food and service keeps me going back. I've took a few friends for a meal and we all found the service friendly and attentitive and the food was like indian food should be....delicious. Definately one not to miss!
